Training in "Crisis Chinuch"

Kol Haneshamot is inviting Parents, Mechanchim, Rabbanim and Teachers to a workhop/training: An educational approach to dealing with adolescents and young people at risk. According to the Netivot Shalom's, it is stated that there are two sets of rules in education. There is a set of rules for regular education, and there is a set of rules for "crisis education”. There are many professional and Torah sources for each approach, but when trying to deal with a teenager/adolescent with the wrong set of tools, one can lose him/her. The rules of "regular" education are relatively familiar, and there is plenty of room for persuasion, rights and obligations, carrots and sticks. The rules of "crisis education” are less well known, and are backed up by many sources, among rabbanim and professionals in the field of education. Dan Tiomkin, author of the book "בוסר המלאכים", which has received enthusiastic applaud from rabbanim and professionals in the field of education, has developed a comprehensive workshop explaining “crisis chinuch” and teaching the tools necessary to approach struggling children in a way that parents, mechanchim, and teachers can help our struggling teenagers/adolescents to become emotionally healthy and happy. This 8 week course will change the way you think and act. Help create a “Safe, Secure, Seen and Soothed” environment for all our children. Week 1 – Traffic light model – choosing the correct model for each and every single child and their situation The danger of a red line and boundaries that are not effective – trauma and its complications and using the necessary tools to deal with it Week 2 – Causes for those that fall within the criteria of Trauma based: sexual abuse, ADHD, Children of New Olim and Baalai Teshuva. The connection between these struggles and pre and post removal from their connection Week 3 – NKN levels – נפשו קשורה בנפשו The most significant tool in healing those that struggle Week 4 – Experiencing success. Encouraging successful experiences by providing self-worth even at difficult moments Week 5 – Weapons. Bombing even when you feel despair Week 6 – Traffic model understood via new tools that were attained and now understood Week 7 – Siblings and the effect on them in a home full of children Week 8 – Summary and Closure There will be various videos of Gedolei Yisroel provided during the lectures such as: Rav Gershon Edelstein, Rav Asher Weiss, Rav Uri Zohar and more.
